John is a 20-year veteran in the real estate industry with experience in financing, land planning, property management/leasing and construction. Prior to joining Landmark, John was the branch manager for a mortgage firm and currently holds several other esteem titles which include, CEO of Dutra Enterprises, Chair of City of Fremont's Economic Development Advisory Commission, a board member of the Roman Reed Foundation and Trustee for the Washington Hospital Foundation. From 1980 to 1987, Mr. Dutra worked for Hewlett-Packard in its Corporate Manufacturing Division. At HP, he was selected among 20 candidates to receive their prestigious Mechanical Engineering scholarship. From 1987 to 1995, John served as a financial officer for several lending institutions, including the Toyota Motor Credit Corporation and the American Bankers Acceptance Corporation, where he was consistently ranked as ABA's top-producing finance officer. From 1996 to 2006, while at The Home Loan Group as a Senior Loan Officer, John served as Dutra Enterprises, Inc.'s Vice-President in charge of Operations, overseeing building management. John is known for his integrity, dedication to meeting the client's needs and goals as well as his creativity in finding solutions for individual and family members. Listening has always been at the top of his list in how best to serve his clients. And after all this time, little beats being able to help a family achieve their dreams. It has always been a comfort to him that clients as far back as he can remember, continue to call him – not only for finance options, but also for other real estate questions and advice. From the first time buyer to the seasoned investor, John's ideal goal has always been that of the client. Having the knowledge to help make each buyer's vision a reality, he doesn't waste time telling clients what they want to hear, but rather what they need to know to make those important, life-changing decisions. John has a passion for life, family and children. To that end, he has been a Little League Umpire for the Niles Centerville Little League for close to 10 years now – long after his son quit playing the game. He is a Niles Rotarian and has volunteered and headed up projects for the group. He also has a passion for a charity that his mother started many years back called OneChild. OneChild serves underprivileged children by providing new – not hand me down or second hand, dresses, skirts, pants, underwear, shoes, socks, backpacks and school supplies. The goal is to take away a child's self-esteem issues and allow them to succeed – focusing on their school work and their own passions for life and success. John has been married to his beautiful wife for over 21 years. They have 3 children. John enjoys golfing, reading and time away in the Sierra foothills. He is committed to building on Landmark's unrivaled reputation of partnering with local entities, charities and higher level of client service. John strongly believes in providing quality, personal integrity and a high level of service in all endeavors. Respect. Honesty. Integrity. |
